The South Island Pow-wow happened throughout the day on the 30th of October, aligning with the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. The event featured indigenous vendors, food trucks and dancing. The purpose of the event is to honor and bring awareness to indigenous history and tradition in Canada in spirit of reconciliation.
Access to the event was free, and a bike valet was available to drop off your bike / e-scooter at, for the duration of the event.
There is lot of space to walk in the event location ( Royal Athletic Park) and you can also sit in the stadium seating, to watch from above.
